Ekovilla X5
Ekovilla X5 is an air barrier to be used in diffusion open breathable structures. It enables the utilization of the moisture capacity of the hygroscopic insulation thus keeping the indoor air conditions closer to optimum level around the year and allows the structure to dry in both directions. It’s also permeable to the carbon dioxide. Due to its fabric reinforcement, it is suitable for cavity blowing applications. X5 is compatible only with hygroscopic insulation.

Installation
Ekovilla X5 is quick and easy to install. It withstands handling without tearing and can be installed even to difficult locations owing to its fabric reinforcement. The air barrier is fixed by stapling at 200 mm intervals. The joints are overlapped 200 mm or according to construction guidelines and joint durability is ensured by Ekovilla X Sealing tape.
The fabric-reinforced paper is laid across the warm side of the insulation and gently pressed into the framing to form a continuous air-tight layer. Its pliable backing molds effortlessly around corners, reveals and service penetrations, preventing gaps or wrinkles. Staples or nails anchor securely without tearing the reinforcement, preserving membrane integrity at each fixing point. Overlapped seams bond with compatible tape to lock in airtightness while still allowing vapor to pass. Once in place, X5 works in concert with cellulose insulation to stabilize indoor humidity and enhance overall thermal performance.
